Tell us your story:
Since 2024, I've been spearheading LGBTQIA initiatives across our Fintech brands - Confused.com, Uswitch, Money.co.uk and Tempcover as chair of the LGBTQIA+ committee, 'RVbU'.
Impact:
This summer I led a team that delivered a group wide event diving into inclusivity in the Fintech industry, including meeting with real LGBTQIA+ consumers who fed back on their experiences. We're exploring how all customers can access services in industries that have historically been rigid in the options available when making decisions about insurances or finance.
Advice:
Connect with colleagues through your company's LGBTQIA+, or be bold and create one if it doesn't exist. This is a place to share ideas and connect with likeminded mentors/peers who understand your experience. 🤝
Look beyond your immediate community to identify senior leaders and peers who are allies. A true ally with influence can be one of the most powerful advocates, championing both you and the causes you care about.
Involving yourself in these initiatives is a great opportunity to do more than just your day job. If you have the passion and capacity, it allows you to develop new skills and gain visibility within your business. It's a chance to make a tangible difference for not just your colleagues - but the community as a whole.
