"I'm a Fintech and Payments Regulatory partner at A&O Shearman. As an advisory lawyer, support my clients (a mixture of bank/non-bank FIs in navigating all the complex sectoral and horizonal regulation (inc. AML/KYC, consumer protection, marketing) which is ever-changing and growing in Fintech! I fell in love with tech and its focus on product after over a year in-house at Apple and have remained loyal to the sector ever since."

Impact:

"I am also co-chair of the firm's LGBTQ+ network and founded its Women's Chapter (A&Out Women). I'm a vocal advocate for our firm increasing its pro bono work for LGBTQ+ organisations and creating opportunities for our LGBTQ+ lawyers and practice professionals, including organising multiple events with our key clients to support shared causes, and discuss best practices on staff wellbeing."

Advice:

"As Fintech is a fast-moving community, it can be difficult to find your "tribe". Be sure to choose an employer who is unafraid to show support for the LGBTQIA+ community and your network will slowly grow. Finally, make sure you "pay it forward" in helping other queer colleagues or peers find their network too - we are at our best when we are family."
