Co-founder, Revenir

Your Story:

I advanced from the Investment team at OakNorth Bank to a Technology & Assurance focused team at PwC. On passing my Chartered Accountancy I moved to become an entrepreneur, co-founding Revenir with Shawn Du after meeting through Imperial College London. I have worked on innovative technology projects, with a focus on financial innovation, for more than 5 years before co-founding Revenir. As a founder I have ensured equality and inclusion are at the heart of our company policy.

Your Impact:

As a member of London's queer community I have long supported charities and businesses focused on inclusion, supporting the wider LGBTQIA+ community at events on a regular basis. As co-founder of Revenir I have created a hiring policy which is inclusive, creating a safe workspace for people to engage in. As a small gesture we have issued a Revenir pride t-shirt which is worn by our investors, employees and advisors to promote inclusivity in the wider financial services system.

Your Advice:

Financial technology and banking, is a sector traditionally dominated by historic institutions, with some being slow to prioritise inclusivity towards the LGBTQIA+ community. Whilst things are changing, if you are considering a role at a company or institution in this sector; it has always helped me to check what support structures are in place and be proactive about entering environments I recognise I would feel comfortable in. Although everyone's experiences can be different, personal feedback is really important.
