Internal mentoring scheme for NB colleague - looking for confidence and stakeholder management skills. Explained the concept of situational leadership and mentored them through to promotion.

Why do you want to be a mentor?

I’m looking to pay it forward. I’ve mentored internally but want to challenge myself by helping someone outside my culture bubble step into their authenticity.

What is your approach to mentoring?

Honest, empathetic and authentic. I apply a bit of humour to what I face but can go deep into unpicking why someone is behaving a certain way. Having been in this stage of someone’s career, I can relate.
