Kim Nguyen
Chief People Officer, Alloy
What is your experience in financial services?I'm the Chief People Officer at Alloy, a fintech identity decisioning company. I've spent my career building and scaling People functions inside high-growth fintech.
What is your mentorship experience?I'm a mentor with Out in Tech and StartOut, and I regularly mentor those both inside and outside my company, including people navigating career transitions and founders building their People functions.
Why do you want to be a mentor?I care about building a stronger, more visible LGBTQ+ presence in fintech leadership. Mentorship is one of the highest-leverage ways I can give back: it's how I got support earlier in my own career, and I want to pay that forward.
What is your approach to mentoring?I'm always rooted in genuine care for the person's growth. I aim to give practical feedback, not just encouragement, and I tailor the relationship to what the mentee actually needs, whether that's career strategy, functional expertise, or just a sounding board.
