James Butland

James Butland is the Vice President of Financial Partnerships, at Airwallex, EMEA, and is responsible for supporting efforts to build local operations and processes to scale the business across EMEA. In this role, James also plays a key role with managing Airwallex’s international relationships with its key financial and banking partners. 

An experienced fintech professional, James has more than a decade’s experience working in the financial and tech industry, with expertise across growing business, payments, FX, Business relationship management and risk management. Prior to joining Airwallex, he was Wise’s (formerly TransferWise) European Banking Lead, where he focused on building out its European Banking network. James had also spent time working at Man Investments and Old Mutual, where he took on various roles to support process improvements and partnership growth.
