Clare Reid

Clare Reid is Strategic Innovation Director at FinTech Scotland. She is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the FinTech innovation programme including the FinTech Scotland Research & Innovation Roadmap. Her remit also includes oversight of the Financial Regulation Innovation Lab, now in its third successful year of operation working with fintechs, the regulator and institutions to accelerate the adoption of technology that helps simplify compliance. Her role also involves supporting and developing relationships with industry partners, fintechs, funders and other strategic partners including the regulators. She has over two decades’ experience in innovation, research, financial services, policy and stakeholder engagement roles. Most recently, she was Director of Policy and Public Affairs at Prosper, where she led research initiatives and managed a partnership with the Scottish Government on small business learning (Peer Works). She has also held senior roles at Experian and Robertson Group, as well as running her own start-up. She is passionate about the opportunity for innovation and technology adoption in the sector and the role that financial services can play in a sustainable and inclusive economic future for Scotland.
