Basak Toprak

Basak Toprak is EMEA Head of Coin Systems for J.P. Morgan. She is responsible for product development, business development and regulatory interaction across the product lines for JPM Coin, Programmable Payments, and Partior in EMEA. In addition, she also leads Incubation efforts for Coin Systems globally, which includes the development of Deposit Tokens. Basak has recently co-authored a white paper on Deposit Tokens, focusing on their use cases and benefits, and how they are distinguished from stablecoins and CBDCs. She oversaw the first pilot trade for Deposit Tokens, which was carried out under Project Guardian launched by the Monetary Authority of Singapore in November 2022.
