Anthony Thompson

Anthony Thompson is Managing Partner of 56° North, a boutique strategic communications and policy advisory firm, named public affairs consultancy of the year in 2025. 56° North specialises in financial services and fintech, advising some of the UK's leading firms on communications, policy and regulatory strategy, including Santander, Allica Bank, Nationwide, True Potential and Oxbury Bank.

Before co-founding 56° North, Anthony spent over a decade leading corporate affairs for major UK and European banks and insurers — including through the global financial crisis, major competition and State Aid investigations, as well as a series of major banking M&A transactions and IPOs. He started his career as a policy adviser and lobbyist at the CBI in the UK and EU, including running the CBI's Brussels office.

Anthony brings in-house leadership experience, independent strategic counsel and extensive networks across government, business, media and the financial markets.
