Alex leads Kyndryl's AI Lab in Liverpool and is the VP of Engineering, accountable for the consistency and quality of Engineering Excellence in everything that Kyndryl does.
A seasoned technology executive with over two decades of experience leading engineering, architecture, and transformation initiatives across the UK banking sector. Known for his strategic mindset and operational precision, Alex has consistently delivered innovation within complex regulatory environments and under tight financial constraints.

Prior to joining Kyndryl, Alex was serving as Director of Engineering, Architecture, and Change at Metro Bank, Alex oversaw the bank’s change capability and technical architecture. He had successfully reduced the annual change budget year on year by 10% through strategic delivery and process optimisation, while leading the modernisation of the bank’s IT landscape to support future growth and resilience.

Before joining Metro Bank, Alex spent over a decade and a half at Lloyds Banking Group, where he held senior engineering and architectural roles, playing a pivotal role in delivering the Payments estate functionally including the merger between LloydsTSB and HalifaxBoS, and the divestment of TSB from Lloyds Banking Group.

He is a strong advocate for team empowerment, Alex is known for building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Alex holds a BSc in Cybernetics and Control Engineering from Reading University and is recognised for his ability to navigate complex change while maintaining delivery excellence. He brings a rare blend of technical depth, financial acumen, and leadership maturity.
