Start-up HyperJar had two big wins at last night’s Payments Awards 2021, held at London’s Grosvenor House hotel: Most Disruptive Payments Technology and Money Management App of the Year.
HyperJar beat established players including NatWest, Marqeta and Starling Bank as well as ‘double unicorn’, Zilch, to win in two of the highest profile categories.
Judges praised HyperJar’s innovative features and the company’s stance on a new approach to helping people spend better and said that the app has ‘the potential to be truly disruptive…a great idea which could change…spending patterns.’
HyperJar launched in October 2020. The app uses proprietary tech to help people manage their money in virtual Jars so they can see, plan and spend it better.
HyperJar can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play store.
About HyperJar
HyperJar Limited is a UK-based fintech company. Its HyperJar money management app is an easy, digital version of jam-jar budgeting with a lot of PayTech magic inside. After a successful pilot and beta phase the app launched to the public in October 2020 with several technological innovations.
These now include direct card payments from unlimited multiple individual Jars (sub-accounts); Shared Jars for 2-100 people that function as instant, pop-up digital kitties; and a dynamic Annual Growth Rate on ‘save now, buy later’ money committed before spending with partners featured on the app.
Money paid into HyperJar accounts is managed by Modulr FS Limited, an authorised Electronic Money Institution regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. As a directly connected participant to the Faster Payments and Bacs schemes, Modulr holds and settles funds at the Bank of England.
Mastercard, the world’s fastest payment processing network, provides the payment rails for the HyperJar prepaid card. Carta Worldwide receives and processes all the Mastercard transactions. Monavate Ltd, licensed by Mastercard International, issues the HyperJar card. TagNitecrest produces the HyperJar Mastercard.
