A number of fintech firms won accolades at this year’s Peer2Peer Finance Awards, which took place on Tuesday at London’s Hurlingham Club.

The annual awards ceremony for the peer-to-peer lending industry was supported by Innovate Finance, with senior policy advisor Mike Carter present on the night.

ClearScore won the award for Open Banking Provider of the Year. The judges said,

“ClearScore has made real headway in facilitating the roll-out of open banking among the lending community and its customers”.

The award for P2P Software Provider of the Year went to White Label Crowdfunding, the sister company of peer-to-peer lending platform Rebuildingsociety. The judges heralded White Label Crowdfunding’s unique expertise with the peer-to-peer lending sector and wide variety of services that have helped platforms scale up their operations.

CrowdProperty picked up some of the most coveted accolades of the night: P2P Lending Platform of the Year, Property Development Lender of the Year and the Investor’s Choice award. The judges said,

“CrowdProperty’s rapid growth while maintaining high underwriting standards is extremely impressive and it’s clear that its customers are impressed too. Its funding line from the British Business Bank gives the platform an extra stamp of approval.”

Folk2Folk won Business Lender of the Year and Ethical Lender of the Year, while its boss Roy Warren won CEO of the Year.

The judges were impressed by Warren’s prominence in the industry and “measured approach”. Commenting on his success at the helm of Folk2Folk, one judge added,

“how Folk2Folk operates is how you want the industry to be thought of.”

Kuflink was awarded Residential Property Lender of the Year and Property Lender of the Year. The judges said,

“Kuflink has demonstrated excellent progress over the past year in building a sustainable, sizeable business while maintaining high levels of communication and transparency with its customers.”

The winners were chosen by an expert panel of judges: Neil Faulkner, managing director of 4th Way; Mike Carter, senior policy adviser at Innovate Finance; and Conrad Ford, chief product and strategy officer at Allica Bank.

Alternative Credit Investor’s editor-in-chief Suzie Neuwirth and contributing editor Kathryn Gaw also participated in the judging.

“It’s great to see so many fintechs recognised at this year’s Peer2Peer Finance Awards, whether that be peer-to-peer lending platforms or technology providers supporting the sector,”

said Neuwirth.

“Congratulations to all winners and better luck next year to those of you on the shortlist who missed out on a trophy.”
